ARC offers safe and convenient in-person child well-check exams
October 20, 2020
“In-person child well-check visits are so important for keeping track of growth and development and doing mental health checkups,” says Dr. Natasha Bhagwandin Ahmed, Pediatrician at ARC Sendero Springs in this recent episode of ARC DocTalk on KVUE-TV. “We really advise parents not to skip out on these visits.”
Dr. Ahmed explains the importance of continuing our children’s well checks. She says, “The last thing we want is when we’re dealing with COVID or when COVID is over, are additional outbreaks of things like measles and whooping cough; things that could totally have been prevented just by bringing children in and keeping up with vaccines.”
“Our clinics are safe; we’re sanitizing regularly,” she assures. “We are separating our sick and our well patients, and we’ll find ways to accommodate you.”
Expanded hours for your convenience
“The best time and place to get the in-person checkup is with your established pediatrician during the regular days of clinic,” Dr. Ahmed says. She adds that for the convenience of our patients, ARC has expanded hours of access. We have afternoon, evening, and weekends clinic hours that allow well-child visits.
Check in with your child
Dr. Ahmed says, “As we know, this is a pretty scary time for everyone. We’re dealing with school that looks completely different from what we’re used to and our kids are really feeling that as well. The same anxiety and frustration that we have with not being able to go out and see friends, our kids are feeling that probably even stronger than we are.” She adds, “I definitely advise parents to talk about how they’re feeling, to ask them, because they may not volunteer that information.”
